10th Planet Jiu Jitsu: Torrance is bringing the South Bay together for a special afternoon of kids’ Jiu Jitsu, high-level No-Gi instruction, belt promotions, and community celebration.
The event will feature three main activities, in this order:
11:30 AM - Doors Open & Check In
12:00 PM — Free kids Jiu Jitsu class
1:00 PM — Aoki Lock seminar — free for current 10th Planet Torrance students and $15 for guests
Belt promotions — immediately following the seminar
We’ll also hold a gear raffle featuring products from Elite Sports. Registration is recommended so we can prepare for attendance and share final event details.

Start With a Free Kids Jiu Jitsu Class
The event begins at 12:00 PM with a free kids Jiu Jitsu class designed to be fun, active, and welcoming for new families.
Kids do not need prior martial arts experience. The class will introduce age-appropriate movement, coordination, confidence, and basic Jiu Jitsu skills in a supportive environment.
Parents will have a chance to see the gym, meet the coaching team, and learn how No-Gi Jiu Jitsu can help children develop:
Confidence
Coordination and body awareness
Discipline and focus
Problem-solving skills
Respect for coaches and training partners
Comfort handling challenges
Comfortable athletic clothing is recommended. No Gi or special uniform is required for a child’s first class.
Learn the Aoki Lock With Marvin Castelle
At 1:00 PM, Marvin Castelle will teach an Aoki Lock seminar for adult and teen grapplers. Kids who are ready for more advanced instruction may stay and participate with coach approval.
The Aoki Lock is a powerful lower-body submission that rewards precise control, positioning, and finishing mechanics. This focused seminar gives experienced practitioners a more compelling reason to attend than a general adult trial class, while still keeping the event accessible to guests.

Current 10th Planet Torrance students: Free
Guests and non-members: $15
Advance registration is strongly recommended. Space may be limited, and every participant must complete the required waiver before training.
Participants should bring normal No-Gi training gear, including a rashguard and grappling shorts or spats without exposed zippers or hard components.
Celebrate Belt Promotions
The event will conclude with belt promotions recognizing students’ progress and commitment.
A promotion represents more than winning rounds or collecting medals. It reflects consistent training, technical development, discipline, maturity, and responsible conduct on the mats.
Promotions are also a community moment. Every student’s progress is supported by coaches and training partners who provide instruction, resistance, feedback, and encouragement.
Families, friends, current students, and guests are encouraged to stay and celebrate.
Enter the Elite Sports Gear Raffle
Attendees will also have the opportunity to enter a gear raffle featuring products provided by Elite Sports.
Elite Sports offers training equipment for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and other combat sports. You can explore their Elite Sports Brazilian Jiu Jitsu collection, the Rash Guard, and the Elite Sports Bag.
Raffle prizes and entry instructions will be confirmed by the gym. Gear is awarded through the raffle and is not guaranteed for every attendee. If someone is still interested in receiving gear, they should provide their preferred size so shipment can be arranged.

HOLD POLICY
To place a membership on hold, members must complete the Time Extension Form at least 30 days before their next billing cycle. To read full Hold Policy for members please read here.
CANCELLATION POLICY
In case a student needs to terminate their membership, both the participant and buyer should fill out the Cancellation Form with the student's name and the reason for the cancellation. The cancellation form should be submitted within 60 days of the billing cycle. Failure to do so will result in the payment of the monthly tuition fee. Some membership types may have different cancellation policies, so please check your email agreement for further details.The cancellation will be processed regardless of the reason, but we would appreciate it if students could share the reason as it would help us with our process and quality management. Students who have cancelled their account may rejoin the gym at any point in the future without any additional fees, and they can simply restart their monthly gym dues. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.
REFUND POLICY
All gym membership fees associated with our gym services are non-refundable. We may consider refunds or credits in exceptional circumstances at our discretion. To request a refund or credit, please submit a written request to our front desk at [email protected] with necessary documentation.
